Annual official report on hate crimes in Spain that mainly published the last developments and data registered.

Key findings:
An improvement of the efficiency in the collection of data.
The introduction of two new areas within the statistical system of criminality (SEC).
One was “discrimination by reason of gender”, after the 2015 reform of article 22.4 of the criminal code on aggravating circumstances. And the second one was “ideology”.

Sample details and representativeness

The data were obtained through the Crime Statistics System (statistical system of criminality (SEC)). For its computation takes into account the facts that have being acknowledged by the following police corps: Guardia Civil, the National Police, the independent police of the different autonomous communities (Ertzaintza and Mossos d'esquadra and Policía Foral de Navarra) as well as the Local Police groups.
